Sprachpass

Schreiben, with a clear brief

Write the task the examiner can score.

Schreiben practice that makes the brief visible before you type. Train the register, cover every point and review your draft with the same criteria the paper expects.

About this skill

A short answer can still do every job the task asks for.

Choose your board and level, write in the right format, then review the content and language decisions that protect your score.

  • Answer the brief

Turn each bullet point into a small check box before you write. A warm sentence cannot rescue a missed task point.

  • Use the right relationship

Du, Sie, a friend, an office and a forum reader each need a different opening, tone and sign-off. The task tells you who is reading.

  • Edit for scoring

Leave time to check the purpose, text type, connectors, word length and the grammar that changes meaning. A small edit can make the answer easier to assess.

The numbers

The writing paper across eight exam targets

20 to 75 minWriting time. Goethe writing runs from 20 minutes at A1 to 75 at B2. telc A1 and A2 place writing inside shared reading and writing blocks, while telc B1 and B2 give the writing task about 30 minutes.
1 to 3Tasks. Goethe A1 and A2 use two writing tasks, Goethe B1 uses three, and Goethe B2 uses two. telc A1 and A2 use two, while telc B1 and B2 use one.
Brief, text type, languageScoring focus. The official criteria differ by target, but each writing answer must make its task response and text type clear before language can help it.
15, 25, 45 or 100 pointsResult model. Writing contributes 25 result points at Goethe A1 and A2, 100 module points at Goethe B1 and B2, and 15 or 45 points in the telc result model depending on the target block.

What you get

Three things every run gives you

  • The brief becomes a plan

Separate the situation, reader, purpose and required points before you choose a sentence. That plan keeps a short answer complete.

  • Register stays visible

Practise informal messages, semi-formal emails, forum posts and forms as distinct shapes. A correct idea in the wrong relationship still sounds wrong.

  • Rubric language becomes practical

Review content coverage, organisation, vocabulary, structures and text type as actions you can take. Do not chase a mysterious score after the draft is finished.

  • Feedback stays kind and exact

You see the covered points, the missing job and one language repair. Use that evidence to choose the next task instead of rewriting everything at once.

How it works

From first tap to explanation

Step 1 of 5

Read the relationship

Circle who receives the text and why. Decide du or Sie, personal or neutral, before you write a greeting.

These rows summarise the official task shapes without reproducing a paper prompt. Use the target selector before you practise, because the same level can ask for a different relationship or text type on telc.

Goethe A1 · Schreiben Teil 2

Sie möchten am Freitag mit Ihrem Freund Leon ins Kino gehen. Aber Sie müssen am Freitag bis 19:00 Uhr arbeiten. Schreiben Sie eine E-Mail an Leon.

Schreiben Sie zu jedem Punkt ein bis zwei Sätze (ca. 30 Wörter). - Warum schreiben Sie? - Neue Uhrzeit? - Wo treffen Sie sich?

How to review a writing answer

The useful review order starts with the reader's job, then moves into the language that carries it.

  1. Step 1: Task coverage

Mark each requested point and the purpose of the text. If a point is missing, add meaning before polishing a sentence.

  2. Step 2: Text type

Check the greeting, opening, paragraph shape and closing against the brief. A forum post, email and form each make a different promise to the reader.

  3. Step 3: Register and connection

Check du or Sie, formality and the links between ideas. Add one clear connector where the reader must follow a reason or sequence.

  4. Step 4: Language repair

Review the grammar, word choice and spelling that affect meaning. Keep one repair for your next task so the feedback becomes practice.

The goal is a draft that answers the reader cleanly, not a sentence that sounds impressive on its own.

Bruno's tip. A first draft is not a verdict. Circle one strong choice and one repair for the next answer.

Common mistakes

Three mistakes that cost points

  • Writing before reading the relationship

A friendly message and a formal request need different language. Fix: name the reader, purpose and register in three words before drafting.

  • Covering two points and forgetting one

A fluent answer can still miss a required job. Fix: turn each bullet into a check box and tick it only after the sentence is clear.

  • Editing grammar before meaning

A polished sentence that answers the wrong question remains a weak answer. Fix: check the task, text type and connections first, then repair language.

Questions

What people ask before their first run

Does Sprachpass grade my writing instantly?

Productive writing work uses a review flow that keeps the task and criteria visible. The public sample is display-only, so it does not pretend that a single instant label replaces the published criteria.

What should I write first?

Write the task purpose and the required points in a short outline. Then choose the greeting, register and closing that fit the reader.

Goethe A1 Schreiben
How long should my answer be?

Follow the target row and the task brief. Word guidance differs by board, level and Teil, so a single platform-wide minimum would mislead you.

German exam guides for Goethe and telc
How much Schreiben practice is free?

Free accounts can submit two writing tasks each day. Premium removes the daily practice question limit, while the writing and speaking grading allowance remains a separate monthly allowance.

Why does telc A1 or A2 feel rushed?

Reading and writing share one written block at those levels. Practise a quick reading decision, then reserve enough time to cover the writing points and review the relationship.

telc A2 Schreiben
What does a strong B1 or B2 draft do?

It answers every task point, makes the relationship and text type clear, connects its ideas and uses language that carries the intended meaning. A longer answer is not automatically stronger.

Goethe B1 Schreiben
Should I memorise a template?

Memorise a reliable structure, not a speech. Use a greeting, purpose, point order and closing that you can adapt to the actual reader and task.
