Lesen, one Teil at a time
Read the signal before the clock runs out.
Lesen practice that follows the paper in front of you, from A1 notices to B2 arguments. Train the answer shape, the time decision and the detail that makes the option right.
About this skill
Reading exam texts gets easier when you know what each Teil is asking you to find.
Choose your board and level, practise one format, then carry the same move into a timed mock.

Scan with a question
Read the task and key words before the passage. Your first job is to know which detail can settle the answer, not to translate every line.

Follow the paper's shape
A notice board, a forum post and a set of advertisements need different reading moves. The practice selector keeps those moves tied to your chosen board and level.

Review the evidence
After a practice answer, revisit the sentence or matching clue that decides it. In a mock, keep your mark and review the pattern after the clock stops.

What you get
Three things every run gives you

A1 means useful detail
Start with short personal messages, signs and simple notices. Practise matching a name, time or place without translating the whole page.

A2 means clean matching
Longer everyday texts and several short sources reward a quick scan for the same meaning. Mark the source before you read for a second detail.

B1 means structure
Blog posts, press texts, reader letters and house rules ask you to track the writer's position. Underline the sentence that changes or supports the point.

B2 means position and nuance
Forum voices, magazine arguments and newspaper texts hide the answer in the relationship between claims. Read connectors such as obwohl, deshalb and dennoch as signposts.
How it works
From first tap to explanation
Step 1 of 5
Set the target
Pick Goethe or telc, then choose A1, A2, B1 or B2. The page keeps the Teil and response shape aligned with that target.
Step 2 of 5
Read the task first
Notice the number of answers, the source type and the words the question repeats. This gives your eyes a job before the passage gets dense.

Step 3 of 5
Find the proof
Scan for a name, number, opinion or connection. Then read the small area around it so a tempting but incomplete match does not win.
Step 4 of 5
Mark and move
Make a clear choice, flag a close call and continue. A difficult item should not spend the minutes that a later item needs.
Step 5 of 5
Review the pattern
After the run, group misses by move: missed synonym, wrong source, skipped negation or rushed matching. Choose one pattern for the next practice set.

Step 1 of 5: Set the target

Liebe Mieter, am Dienstag, fünfzehnten März, kommen Handwerker. Sie reparieren die Heizung im ganzen Haus. Die Heizung ist von acht bis siebzehn Uhr aus. Bitte bleiben Sie zu Hause oder geben Sie mir Ihren Schlüssel ab. Sie können den Schlüssel im Erdgeschoss bei mir holen. Vielen Dank, Frau Hoffmann.

What useful Lesen feedback contains
A correct answer matters, but the reading move behind it is what you can repeat.
Step 1: The answer
See the result as soon as you finish a practice item. In a mock, the result waits until the paper is complete.
Step 2: The proof
The explanation points to the sentence, notice or matching condition that decides the answer. It uses original Sprachpass wording, not a copied official passage.
Step 3: The trap
If a wrong option repeats a familiar word, the note explains the missing condition or changed relationship.
Step 4: The next move
Carry one practical instruction into the next item, such as check the negation, compare the source or read the connector.
A review is complete when you can explain why the answer wins, not when you can remember the letter.

Common mistakes
Three mistakes that cost points

Translating every word
Translation uses the minutes you need for the task. Fix: read the question, scan for its key idea and return to the small passage that proves the choice.

Choosing a familiar word
A repeated word can appear in a wrong option as a distraction. Fix: read the full sentence and check who, when, where and why before you mark it.

Staying with one hard item
One matching problem can consume the time for two easy ones. Fix: mark a provisional choice, move on and return when the rest of the sources has narrowed the field.
Questions
What people ask before their first run
Should I read the whole text first?
Use the task to decide. At A1 and A2, scan the question and the source first; at B1 and B2, read enough of the structure to track the writer's point before you chase details.
Goethe B1 LesenCan I practise Goethe and telc on the same page?
Yes. Choose the board in the matrix, because the same level can use a different Teil order, source shape and result model.
German exam guides for Goethe and telcWhat does a practice run show me?
It shows your answers, the pattern of missed tasks and the next useful move. Practice runs are untimed with feedback after each answer; mocks keep the result until the end.
German mock exam onlineHow much Lesen practice is free?
Free accounts can answer ten reading questions each day, which is one practice run. Premium removes the daily practice question limit.
Does telc include Sprachbausteine in Lesen?
At telc B1 and B2, Lesen and Sprachbausteine sit in the same 90-minute written block. Sprachpass keeps the language-elements parts visible as their own selectors so you can practise the right gap task.
telc B1 SprachbausteineHow do I prepare for matching tasks?
Write the need or claim in a few words, then test every condition in the source. A source that shares one word but misses the condition is not a match.
Goethe A2 LesenWhere should I start if I am between levels?
Run one short set at each likely level and compare the Teil patterns. Choose the level tied to the exam you plan to book, then use the weaker Teil as your first target.
