Before you start
Begin when your German is close to A2 and you are ready to practise reading and writing inside their shared exam rhythm.
Have six weeks? Use weeks one and two as separate language and baseline weeks, then follow the four-week plan. There is no separate six-week URL.
Adjust the pace to your starting point
You already work comfortably at A2
Use the 4-week plan as written and spend extra time on your weakest exam skill.
Your German is close, but uneven
Repeat the first training block before you add the clock. Let practice evidence set the date.
You are still building toward A2
Add language-learning weeks first. This plan prepares the exam format, not the whole language level.
2, 4 or 8 weeks: how to stretch or compress this plan
Plan about one hour a day, with 60 to 90 minutes for timed sections and the weekend rehearsal.
- 2 weeks
- Use two weeks only from a strong A2 base. Combine format and baseline work, then move straight to timed practice.
- 4 weeks
- Use the schedule as written when A2 language is already steady.
- 8 weeks
- Use two extra weeks for language and baseline work, then stretch the final repair block instead of cramming.
How to split your study time
Hören
Use a short daily slot because the middle listening part plays once.
Lesen
Train the three reading task shapes before combining reading with writing under one clock.
Schreiben
Practise the form and short email, then rehearse them inside the shared written block.
Sprechen
Perform all three oral parts aloud, including the negotiation task.
Your week-by-week plan
Each week has one focus, the matching Sprachpass drills, and one honest checkpoint before you move on.
Week 1
45 to 60 minutes a day
Map telc A2: Hören Teile 1 to 3 (about 20 minutes), a shared 50-minute block for Lesen Teile 1 to 3 and the two Schreiben tasks, then Sprechen in pairs. Collect phrases for suggesting and agreeing (Wollen wir ...?, Wir könnten ..., Das passt mir) for the Sprechen Teil 3 plan.
Week 2
60 minutes a day
Untimed Lesen: directory multiple choice in Teil 1, true or false on a connected text in Teil 2, five situations matched to eight adverts or none in Teil 3. Fill in the form and draft the short letter of about 40 words.
Week 3
60 to 90 minutes a day
Treat the 50-minute block as one clock and test your own split between reading and writing. Rehearse Sprechen Teile 1 to 3 with a partner, from personal questions to a joint plan.
Week 4
60 to 90 minutes a day
Rehearse the whole exam under time and total it out of 60, aiming well clear of 36. Work on the part that lost most points, then slow down for the final days.
Ready to look for an exam date?
Sprachpass handles preparation. BookGermanTest handles current dates, centres and booking details. Check there only when your rehearsal evidence feels steady.

Questions about the plan
Is 4 weeks enough for telc A2?
4 weeks can be enough when your German is already near A2. If the first two weeks show large language gaps, add time before the timed rehearsal block.
How is telc A2 scored, and what does that change in this plan?
You need at least 36 of 60 points in total, and the official practice test also mentions a minimum in the written and the oral part without printing the numbers. So each rehearsal is added up the same way, and the part that lost most points gets the repair time.
Which week rehearses each telc A2 part?
Week 2 trains Lesen Teile 1 to 3 and both Schreiben tasks without a clock, and week 3 times the 50-minute block and rehearses Sprechen Teile 1 to 3. Hören Teile 1 to 3 run daily from week 1, and week 4 rehearses the whole exam.
Which German should I focus on for telc A2?
Making and answering suggestions: Wollen wir am Samstag ...?, Wir könnten ..., Da habe ich leider keine Zeit. Sprechen Teil 3 asks you and your partner to agree on a plan together.
How many days a week should I practise?
Five or six short days usually work better than one long weekend. Keep one lighter day and protect daily listening when it appears in the plan.
When should I book the exam?
Use a timed rehearsal as evidence. If the format feels familiar and your results are steady across skills, check current dates on BookGermanTest. If not, extend the repair block first.
