Free telc A1 mock test: the written paper in exam timing

Every account can sit one full telc A1 written paper free after signing in: Hören, then Lesen and Schreiben on their shared 45-minute clock. It is not an official telc exam, so you get no certificate.

What the timed paper contains

The written session takes about 65 minutes: listening follows the recording, then reading and writing share one 45-minute clock.

Hören (listening)

about 20 min · 3 parts · 15 questions

Teil 1 (6 questions, played twice): short everyday conversations, each with one of three options. Teil 2 (4 questions, played once): public announcements, so read each statement in the pause and decide on the first listen. Teil 3 (5 questions, played twice): short phone messages, each with one of three answers.

Lesen (reading)

shared 45 min with Writing · 3 parts · 15 questions

Teil 1 (5 questions): two short personal texts such as emails, marked Richtig or Falsch. Teil 2 (5 questions): two adverts or web pages per situation, where you decide whether a or b fits. Teil 3 (5 questions): signs and notices, marked Richtig or Falsch.

Schreiben (writing)

shared 45 min with Reading · 2 parts · 6 tasks

Teil 1: fill five fields of a form from a short scenario. Teil 2: a message of about 30 words to a given recipient that covers three points, with a greeting and sign-off.

Exam-day facts

  • Allow about 10 minutes before the written paper for answer-sheet formalities.
  • Hören, Lesen, Schreiben and Sprechen are worth 15 points each. The pass mark is 36 of 60 overall.
  • Sprechen is a three-part group exam of about 15 minutes, normally with up to four candidates and no separate preparation time listed: introduce yourself, ask and answer everyday questions, then make and respond to requests.
  • A failed result means retaking the complete exam. Individual sections cannot be carried forward.
  • The official booklet suggests about 25 minutes for reading and 20 for writing inside the shared clock.

Sprechen stays separate

The real telc oral exam depends on other candidates and licensed examiners. Sprachpass does not pretend to reproduce that inside the timed paper. Speaking has its own practice and grading flow.

Two ways to take the same paper

Practice mode

  • The same section clocks and recordings
  • Save, leave and resume later

Real exam mode

  • Hören plays Teile 1 and 3 twice, Teil 2 once
  • Lesen and Schreiben share one 45-minute clock
  • Leaving ends the attempt, after you confirm

How to read your result

The written result shows the section scores but no complete pass verdict. Sprechen is practised and graded separately because the real oral exam needs other candidates and examiners.

After the paper, your History keeps the question-by-question review. Insights uses your measured work to show which skills need attention. It never turns an unmeasured result into a promise.

Your first mock is free

Every learner account gets one free mock exam. Premium unlocks unlimited mocks and unlimited practice. Both modes are available on the same paper.
