Free telc B2 mock exam: the written paper, timed as in the exam

Sign in free and your account can sit one full telc B2 written paper, where every Hörverstehen recording plays once. This is practice, not an official telc test, so no certificate is issued.

What the timed paper contains

At B2 the written paper takes about 140 minutes. Reading and Sprachbausteine still share 90 minutes, but Hören is shorter and nothing is replayed. The Sprachpass mock covers this written paper only.

Leseverstehen (reading)

shared 90 min with Language Elements · 3 parts · 20 questions

Teil 1 (5 questions): headings for five short texts, chosen from ten. Teil 2 (5 questions): a longer text with five detail questions. Teil 3 (10 questions): twelve sources for ten situations, where x means none fits.

Sprachbausteine (language elements)

shared 90 min with Reading · 2 parts · 20 questions

Teil 1 (10 questions): a personal or semi-formal letter whose ten gaps test grammar such as connectors and relative pronouns. Teil 2 (10 questions): a formal, journalistic text whose ten gaps take words from a bank of fifteen.

Hörverstehen (listening)

about 20 min · 3 parts · 20 questions

Teil 1 (5 questions, played once): short news-style texts, judged for the main point. Teil 2 (10 questions, played once): an interview, judged for detail. Teil 3 (5 questions, played once): short announcements, judged for one specific fact.

Schriftlicher Ausdruck (writing)

30 min · 1 part · 1 task

Teil 1: choose task A or B, then write one formal or semi-formal email of at least 150 words.

Exam-day facts

  • Points: 300 in total, 225 for the written paper and 75 for the oral exam. Each part must reach 60 percent on its own: 135 written, 45 oral.
  • The oral exam takes about 15 minutes with two candidates, or about 25 with three, after 20 minutes of preparation.
  • A missed written or oral exam can be retaken on its own within 12 months; single subtests cannot.
  • Grades: sehr gut from 270, gut from 240, befriedigend from 210, ausreichend from 180.

Sprechen stays separate

The real telc oral exam depends on other candidates and licensed examiners. Sprachpass does not pretend to reproduce that inside the timed paper. Speaking has its own practice and grading flow.

Two ways to take the same paper

  • Save, leave and resume later

Real exam mode

  • Leaving ends the attempt, after you confirm

How to read your result

The written result shows each section and the written total out of 225. The written pass line is 135. Sprechen is practised and graded separately, so its result is never folded into the written mock.

After the paper, your History keeps the question-by-question review. Insights uses your measured work to show which skills need attention. It never turns an unmeasured result into a promise.

Your first mock is free

Every learner account gets one free mock exam. Premium unlocks unlimited mocks and unlimited practice. Both modes are available on the same paper.
